Mount Gahinga Rest Camp is composed of nine grass thatched banda and 3 tents with private facilities, half of these cottages have their en-suite and private balconies which are facing towards Lake Mutanda. This cottage was built using the locally available material collected by the local people so are the staff members who are trained on jobs and through this they earn some income to cater for their families thus an excellent employment opportunity to so many people. The electricity is supplied from the solar panels instead of the hydro electricity because it is not reliable.

While staying at the camp, one gets a chance to trek golden monkeys and mountain gorillas in the same place. Trekking the impressive Afromontane forest in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is where the happiness begins. At the first moment, a visitor sees the unique-impressing mountain gorilla in a very challenging to explain experience, unless you took a gorilla safari.
